Course descriptionAt the Vet Tech Institute, we love our students as much as we love our animals. We are committed to helping our students succeed during school and after graduation.
From assisting in surgery to monitoring a sick or injured animal, veterinary technicians help care for animals of all shapes and sizes. Veterinary technicians perform a variety of tasks under the supervision of a veterinarian. These tasks include:
Collecting and analyzing test specimens
Taking x-rays to detect abnormalities
Administering anesthesia
Assisting with surgical procedures
Performing injections and running IVs
After finishing the program, you'll be trained in handling and restraining animal patients, office procedures, anesthesia, sterilization, radiology, pharmacology, and other procedures.
An externship during your last semester will give you even more real-world experience.
