Associate of Applied Science Degree in Medical Assisting
Course descriptionThe Medical Assistant program introduces students to anatomy and physiology of the body systems, medical terminology, and required clinical and administrative skills needed for an entry-level Medical Assistant position. Students will engage in ""hands on" training in clinical and administrative procedures such as injections, veni-puncture, telephone techniques, filing and preparation of medical records. After successful completion of all classroom training, the student will then complete an externship in a healthcare setting.
The Associate of Applied Science Degree Program provides the foundation for a graduate to seek more expanded career opportunities in the field of medical assisting and prepares them for future career advancement
