B.A. in Communication Technology

  • Course description
New technologies have revolutionized the way we communicate. Instant online communication, along with advances in graphics, animation and multimedia, are changing the way we live, work and play. For example:
    • Business colleagues work together from different cities or countries, bringing the team together for virtual meetings.

    • Colleges and universities offer instruction to students through distance learning.

    • Breaking news and magazine articles are posted online, along with interactive features and slide shows.

    • Professionally produced television and amateur video both stream online.

These changes offer many career opportunities. Lewis University's Communication Technology program prepares graduates with the skills they need to excel in this expanding field.

As a Communication Technology Student, you will need to think with both sides of the brain: integrating technical skills with creative design and artistic vision. You will study the underlying technology, develop skills in current software, and learn about instructional media design and development. You will take courses such as Introduction to Mass Media, Electronics and Engineering, and Web Design, along with foundation courses and unique electives.
