Course descriptionOur Computer Science majors prepare for careers such as programmers and systems analysts in scientific and engineering environments. Your classes will emphasize fundamental principles and problem-solving skills and follow the curriculum for liberal arts colleges suggested by the Association for Computing Machinery.
Upon graduation, you will be able to enter a career in the software development and support industry, or to continue your studies in a graduate computer science program. Bridgewater College graduates work in various areas of the computer industry for both private and government agencies, in scientific laboratories or in fields related to computing in business and finance. By taking select courses in departments outside of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, you may have the benefit of a wide variety of career opportunities. Also, through taking certain education courses, you can be certified to teach computer science at the secondary level.
