Course descriptionAs a Bridgewater College mathematics major, you will choose classes from a curriculum modeled after the recommendations of the Mathematical Association of America. Mathematics is one of the most fundamental of all the sciences and will prepare you for a wide range of occupations. Our recent graduates have pursued careers in quality assurance, statistics, actuarial science, analysis, graph theory and computer programming, to name a few. BC mathematics majors have proceeded to graduate school to study both pure and applied mathematics, as well as statistics, operations research, economics and law school. You can also receive excellent preparation for a career in secondary teaching.
You also have the option to pursue a combined major of physics and mathematics, designed to prepare you to teach both subjects at the secondary level.
