  • Course description Preparation for the Major (3 courses - 15 units)

    Geography 1 or 2 (Physical Environment or Biogeography)
    Geography 3 or 4 or 6 (Cultural Geography, Globalization, or World Regions)
    Statistics 12 (Statistical Methods for Geography and Environmental Studies)

    The Major (12 courses - 48 units)
    •Students must take 12 Upper Division Geography courses (minimum of 48 units) to complete the major.

    •All courses must be taken for a letter grade. Overall and major GPA of 2.0 is required to graduate.

    •One Independent Research class may apply: Geography 199 (Independent Research) or Geography 189A (Honors Research). Must be taken as a 4-unit, letter graded course.

    •Although not required, students can select a cluster of courses from a particular concentration of study in Geography. Below are some suggestions. All courses below are listed under Geography.
