Course descriptionTime spent in elementary school represents some of the most crucial years of our lives. It is where we learn mathematics, reading, and writing. What we learn in elementary school is a springboard for our education in high school, college, and beyond. Indiana Tech understands the importance of those first years in school.
Educationhas evolved and changed over the years, and we have created a comprehensive program that teaches our students how to integrate the best, time proven techniques with new technology. We also understand the importance of practical experience when learning to become a teacher. That is why our students spend about 60 hours per semester in elementary school classrooms experiencing what teachers experience everyday!
Course Description
The curriculum is designed to prepare elementary and physical education professionals from diverse backgrounds with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to promote student learning and development, especially in urban schools. Building on quality field experiences, the program develops reflective practitioners who model lifelong learning, technological competence, and professionalism. A hallmark of this program is the extensive 60 hour per semester field experience, a cutting edge addition lauded by professional educators across the nation.
