ObjectivesThe Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management degree is designed to equip students with knowledge and entry-level skills for employment in the health care environment with emphasis in managing in those environments. This degree is grounded in a theoretical framework derived from the social, behavioral, managerial, and informational sciences. The graduate will have an understanding of the variables in health care utilization; and ability to complete risk assessments of the populations managed; and appreciation for the human factor necessary in providing health care. The program uniquely blends the environment of health care with the business principles required in the growing industry of health care.
Course description
The Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Management will allow students with an associate degree in a health related professional area to obtain a baccalaureate degree with an emphasis in the development of business and management skills. Graduates may find employment in a wide variety of health related businesses such as: Medical Health Services Manager, Administrative Services Manger, Social and Community Services Manager, Medical Office or Clinic Manager, Healthcare Marketing Manager and Healthcare Sales Manager
Classroom procedures
Each course stands alone as a unit of study and is not dependent upon prerequisite training. A student may enter the program at the beginning of any course and continue through the sequence until completion of all courses. The course work consists of lecture/demonstration and practical applications.
