Bachelor of Science in Spanish with Teacher Licensure
Entry requirementsTo be admitted to the Teacher Education Program students must take and/or satisfy testing requirements for Reading, Writing and Math areas of the PRAXIS (PPST or CBT). The Area Exams are required for licensure. Only CI/SPE 2800 and PSY 3000 may be taken prior to formal admission into the College of Education.
Course description2.0 major GPA is required for graduation. Major GPA calculation will include all courses taken in the major department, plus any other courses under III. Minimum of 18 semester hours of courses taken to fulfill major requirements must be courses offered by Appalachian. All students who wish to enroll in courses taught in Spanish on the level of 2000 or above must see an advisor in the department before enrolling.
Spanish Core: 24 semester hours at the level of 2000 or above including:
(SNH 1050 OR 1060 is a prerequisite to all 2000 level courses)
SNH 2005 (3) Intensive Grammar Review
SNH 2010 (3) Conversational Spanish
SNH 2025 (3) Introduction to Literature (Pre: SNH 2005)
