Course descriptionHow do you see the world? What stories do you need to tell? What pictures are worth a thousand words? In documentary projects students experience the adventure of a documentary assignment, much like one they would receive from a professional editor. Recent trips abroad have included Costa Rica, Cuba, The Czech Republic, and Australia where students have ventured forth to find stories to tell visually. One of two Visual Journalism courses designed to allow the student, while still in school, to experience a documentary assignment. The Documentary Journalism course is structured so the majority of the time is spent off-campus shooting documentary photographs. Real world encounters will lead to real world solutions.
