M.A. in Elementary Education

    Are you ready to begin your new career as a teacher? With Lewis University's accelerated Master of Arts program in Elementary Education, you could earn your master's and your teaching certificate in a year and a half. 

    You will take courses such as:
    • Methods of Teaching Reading and Integrated Language Arts, K-9
    • Methods of Teaching Social Studies and Multicultural Studies, K-9
    • Technology for Teaching and Learning
    • Curriculum and Instruction in Middle School

    You will also spend a year as an assistant teacher in a partnership school, working with a mentor teacher.

    Lewis' College of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.


    FIELD-BASED ACCELERATED ELEMENTARY CERTIFICATION PROGRAM/MASTER OF ARTS

    This is a field-based accelerated program leading to elementary certification and a Master of Arts degree. Candidates spend the entire school year in a partnership school working with a mentor teacher.
