Course description
Learn the art of video and audio production by the use of a project-oriented approach with an emphasis on program development and team building skills. Students are trained on analog and digital broadcast-quality equipment while acquiring both theoretical and practical knowledge in video and audio.
Learn Digital Filmmaking and Digital Editing in our state-of-the-art facilities. Our program includes two full-equipped broadcast quality television studios, two production control rooms featuring multi-format recording/playback (Beta SP, SVHS, Hi8, ¾ Umatic, Mini DV), fully integrated A/B roll editing systems, 24 digital non-linear editing booths with Final Cut Pro, three fully-equipped radio studios, and five audio production booths with ProTools HD1.
Upon completion of the Associate in Science Degree in Video and Audio Production Technology, students will be qualified to start their careers in the following industries: broadcast/non-broadcast television, radio and audio recording. Students are prepared for careers in video production which include: director, technical director, lighting director, camera operator, master control operator, videographer, video editor, producer and production assistant.
Opportunities in Audio and Radio Production include: recording technician, board director, editor, video and radio producer, copywriter and on-air talent.
Students can earn their Associate’s Degree in Video and Audio Production in as little as 18 months, days or evenings. In addition, after completing certain prerequisites, graduates of this program are eligible to continue on for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Digital Recording Arts or Business Management Technology.
