Course description
A Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from Alabama State University will prepare you for graduate and professional study in communication and related fields and for career opportunities in areas such as marketing, personnel management, programming, public relations, news reporting and packaging for print, radio and TV.
Inside the classroom, the Department of Communications offers curricula designed to provide an understanding of communication models and theories, skills for effective communication and the ability to apply modern information technologies for various modes of communication.
Outside the classroom, you will gain hands-on experience during the required practicum and internship opportunities through on-campus assignments such as the Hornet Tribune or the university’s radio station WVAS FM, and off-campus assignments at local, state and national newspapers and TV and radio stations.
