    The Pilates Instructor Certificate Program (PICP) at College of San Mateo prepares students to teach at a health club, fitness center, or privately owned studio. Students may choose to obtain a Pilates Mat Instructor Certificate, Pilates Mat and Reformer Certificate, or the full Pilates Instructor Certificate.

    The Pilates Certificate program includes instruction in the technique, pedagogy, history and theory behind Pilates. Students will procure personal sessions, observation hours, and student teaching hours by taking the Pilates lab course; opportunities to complete these hours may also be available through the San Mateo Athletic Club at College of San Mateo.


    Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) Certification
    Students who have completed the full Pilates Instructor Certificate Program and are 18 years of age or older will be eligible to sit for the Pilates Method Alliance Certification Exam.
