Midwest College of Cosmetology, a division of Lincoln College – Normal, is a premier cosmetology school in Central Illinois. We first opened our doors in 1998 and are fully licensed by the State of Illinois.
The potential of MCC graduates is unlimited because of our exceptional teaching methods. Our instructors are leaders in their fields and passionate about student success . Students receive the practical knowledge and hands-on training required to become licensed practitioners in a state-of-the-art professional salon and spa.

Mission Statement
Midwest College of Cosmetology was designed and built exclusively as a higher education institution of cosmetology dedicated to producing highly skilled cosmetologists, estheticians, nail technicians, and instructors by using the latest technology and professional salon products.
Student Learning Objectives
MCC students will receive hands-on training in a full service salon atmosphere. A strong emphasis will be placed on:

While enrolled at MCC, students will have the opportunity to work toward a small business administration certificate and/or an associate’s degree.
Facility
MCC is situated in the heart of Lincoln College’s campus in Normal, Illinois. Our state of the art facility is over 10,000 square feet. Within our teaching and learning facility we have the following:
- 3500 square feet of clinic space.
- 36 individual workstations.
- Shampoo station.
- Chemical station for perms and hair color treatments.
- Esthetics facilities found in luxury spas.
- Classrooms for theory and practical work.
- Student lounge equipped with a refrigerator and vending machines.
- Learning library with publications, curricula, audio-visual tapes, and industry-related journals and magazines.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of MCC are prepared to enter the various fields of cosmetology. In fact, upon graduation, 90% already have a job. There are many different career paths a licensed cosmetologist can take. Consider these cool jobs.
Stylist – This is where most students start their cosmetology career. You’ll be styling hair, doing color, and gaining experience while learning more about the profession.
Platform Artist – Manufacturers like to hire cosmetologists that excel in their specialized area. So, if you’re awesome at coloring, you could demonstrate your talent by using and selling their hair color products.
Salon Manager – Once you’ve proven yourself as a responsible and creative cosmetologist, you could be promoted into management at the salon. This additional responsibility often means more income. You might even decide that you’d like to go from renting a booth to owning your own business.
Salon Owner – Owning your own salon can be very rewarding but to be successful, it requires a basic knowledge of business. Since MCC offers an Associate in Applied Science degree through Lincoln College, it’s the perfect opportunity to take extra business courses you need to learn about business concepts.
Manufacturer’s Representative – Companies look for professionals to represent them in the marketplace. With a basic knowledge of cosmetology, you would be a great asset to a market a line of hair care or make up products to salons.
Make-up Artist – Cosmetic companies look for licensed professionals to demonstrate and sell their products. When you see a person applying make-up in a department store, it’s likely that they are an Esthetician or Cosmetologist.
